My musical journey began when I first picked up a violin at the age of ten.
My lovely teacher Mrs Woodburn helped me discover my passion for music and I quickly found I had a natural aptitude for the violin.
However, it wasn’t until I took up playing the viola at aged 14 that I felt I found my ‘true instrument’.
The resonance that echoed through the room when I pulled my bow along the C string (the lowest on the viola and the one that the violin doesn’t have) left me speechless and with a massive grin on my face.
I fell in love with the viola, there and then.
THE ROYAL ACADEMY OF MUSIC
I began studying both the violin and viola with Pamela Rosenfeld in Cornwall, and then went on to specialise in the viola under Martin Outram at The Royal Academy of Music.
Before launching Fenland Fiddles, I was an instrumental teacher with Bedfordshire’s ‘Inspiring Music’ where I taught since 1992.
VIOLIN LESSONS CAMBRIDGESHIRE
I am a proud Cornishwoman but – today – I live with my husband and my two cats in Cambridgeshire.
I hold a current ‘Enhanced DBS Certificate’ and am set up to teach students privately from my home.
So, if you’re looking to take up violin lessons or viola lessons in Cambridgeshire then I’d love to speak to you and find out how I can help you discover your own musical passion.
